These Westwind prototypes are an example of what can be built for you.
At Westwind we don't just "assemble" a custom guitar from parts...we
can actually build it from scratch. from a basic Strat or Tele to a full
custom neck thru with exotic woods. Come in with your wish list!

We needed a guitar to
demo the ultra cool
TREMKING & MightyMite
pickups. We had a
butchered body from an
old Kramer bass someone
had tried to turn into a
guitar but it neede help.
We added wood to the
body & topped it with
bookmatched flame maple
& a custom finish. It's an
odd shape but very
balanced. It created quite
a bit of interest & some
requests for another. so,
since this one's a blonde,
below is the brunette
sister:
We started with an Alder body, topped it with flamed
Walnut, did some body balance mods for ultra playability,
then routed for triple pickups (SSH). We then cleared the
edge of the walnut for a contrasting edge binding look.
Next we filled
the grain &
stained the
walnut. We
shot the back
metallic green
& cleared the
body. Check
back for final
pictures!

This was a fun project: This is
a '59 Gibson Melodymaker. It
had a humbucker added in the
bridge with a homemade
pickguard and sunburst. The
customer wanted it cherry red
with a custom pickguard, we
also suggested new Kluson
tuners for a "period correct"
look. Once we stripped the old
finish we were amazed at how
much figure the mahogony
had. This came out looking
like new!!
